About the Speakers

Ajay Gupta

Ajay Gupta was appointed Chief Digital Transformation Officer in February 2020. He leads business and technology transformation efforts to assist the DMV in becoming a modern enterprise. Ajay served as a special advisor to the DMV director prior to the Governor’s appointment.

Before joining state service, Ajay worked as a managing director at one of the Big 4 global professional service firms, where he led the delivery of legacy transformation, technology innovation, and managed services for State departments nationally. Ajay brings more than 27 years of public sector experience to the DMV.

Ajay has a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Information Technology from UC Davis and is certified in Project Management from PMI, NIST Cyber Security, Open Group Architecture Framework and several Cloud platforms.

Christine Halvorsen

Christine Halvorsen holds the distinction of being Okta’s inaugural Public Sector Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, she is instrumental in helping public sector customers achieve their mission with modern Identity solutions that simplify their processes and secure their IT infrastructure. Christine's unique position allows her to apply her deep insight to ensure that Okta’s industry-leading innovations meet security and compliance requirements while offering an optimal user experience for the company’s more than 24 million federal, state, local, education, and healthcare users.

She is a frequent industry speaker on trust and security, cyber resilience, cyber policy, AI risk and governance, and cloud technology.

Christine holds an MBA from Georgetown University, a master’s degree in Computer Information Security from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
